Acadia Adventures
Prior to park-specific or activity-specific info, an Acadia NP re-cap. We hope the following is useful for visits, or revisits, to Acadia - and gives a sense of the range of resources for many other NPs.

AMC's "Discover Acadia NP: A Guide to Hiking, Biking, & Paddling" includes camping and outfitter suggestions along with info. on other other outdoor activities.

Mountaineer's "Outdoor Family Guide to Acadia NP" focuses on hiking, with briefer biking and paddling sections.

Down East's compact "Pocket Guide to Hiking on Mount Desert Island" and "Pocket Guide to the Carriage Roads of Acadia NP" have detailed route maps.

"The Sea Kayaker's Guide to Mount Desert Island" has advice about access spots, islands open to the public, shoreline hazards, and watching the weather.

"Acadia's Carriage Roads", "The Park Loop Road", and "Beyond the Park Loop Road" include color photographs (landscapes) and black & white drawings.
